Inside the Musical Guides

I coordinate and manage the creation of Inside the Musical Guides. These guides offer supplementary curriculum containing educational content, articles, activities, opportunities for reflection, and resources based on the content and themes of a show. The guides can be utilized before or after experiencing a show and can be found on The 5th's website.

Educational Guides

As part of The 5th's Educational Touring Company, I also led an incredible team of teaching artists to develop an educational guide for the world-premiere musical, Songs of the Moon: Fantastical Folktales from Asia. You can view that guide here.

Fridays @ The 5th

The bulk of my youth programming work is through Fridays @ The 5th, an educational program for teens that gives them the opportunity to take a musical theater workshop, then attend a corresponding production. Here is a selection of Fridays @ The 5th workshops that I've co-designed alongside teaching artists:

Mary Poppins: Choreography and Collaboration
- This workshop focused on ensemble-building choreography
The Last Five Years: Perspective and Reflection
- This workshop took students through the Meisner technique for character development
Waitress: Ensemble Workshop
- This workshop focused on the importance of a strong ensemble for storytelling
Chicago: Fosse Choreography
- Need I say more? An exciting workshop on all things Fosse
ELF: Collaborations in Costuming and Acting
- For the first time, Fridays @ The 5th featured an integrated technical and performance workshop that highlighted how costumers have to work with actors in order to create costumes that allow actors to move onstage.
